Confidential Individual Information System (CIIS)

a computerized nationwide data base used by the various national and local offices of the Office of Thrift Supervision to collect and share information about persons who require particular supervisory attention. The system is designed to alert federal regulators to persons who have been the subject of supervisory concern. CIIS is used to prevent persons who have been caught violating regulations in one savings institution from moving to a different part of the country and causing problems in another institution.
